The experience
Guided wine tasting sessions
The tour includes 14 wine tastings at three different locations. You’ll begin with a visit to a family-run domain in Beaune, where you’ll taste various Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. The tastings take place in authentic wine cellars and include commentary from the winemaker.
Later in the day, you will stop at a domain near Nuits-Saint-Georges, known for its Pinot Noir. You’ll also experience a final tasting in Chambolle-Musigny, inside a traditional wine cellar.
Scenic drive along the Grands Crus road
The tour features a drive along the Route des Grands Crus, considered one of the most important wine roads in France. The route crosses prestigious appellations including Romanée-Conti, the most expensive wine in the world, produced from a vineyard of only 1.8 hectares (4.4 acres).
Your guide will explain the history of each vineyard and give practical insights about AOC classifications, terroir, and yields.
Visit to Clos de Vougeot
A stop is included at Clos de Vougeot, a 50-hectare (123-acre) vineyard first cultivated by monks in the 12th century. You’ll visit the castle courtyard and learn about the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, an association promoting Burgundy wines.
Lunch and free time
Lunch is not included, but the guide offers recommendations in Beaune. You can also visit the Hospices de Beaune on your own (entrance fee approx. €10 / £8.50 / $11). Alternatively the entire tour can be privatized.
