The Experience

Mission Options

Participants can select from two mission profiles:

Mission Top Gun: A 20-minute flight focusing on aerial maneuvers in close formation.
Mission Immersion: A 30-minute flight that includes low-altitude navigation in tight formation, offering a more in-depth experience.

Flight Details

Upon arrival at Candillargues Aerodrome, you’ll be welcomed by a professional instructor in a friendly atmosphere. After a comprehensive briefing on flight techniques and safety protocols, you’ll suit up in a flight suit and helmet. The adventure begins with a close-formation takeoff, with aircraft flying just 3 meters (approximately 10 feet) apart. As you ascend to around 1,800 meters (approximately 6,000 feet), you’ll have the opportunity to take in aerial views of the Gulf of Grau-du-Roi.

Under the leader’s direction, you’ll engage in formation aerobatics and simulated aerial combat. Experience the sensations that fighter pilots encounter, with accelerations up to 5G and speeds reaching 420 km/h (approximately 260 mph). Flying in such close proximity to another TB-30 Epsilon is truly exhilarating. The instructor will tailor the flight to your comfort level, ensuring an optimal and enjoyable experience.

For those eager to take the experience further, there’s an option to handle the controls under the instructor’s supervision, adding an extra layer of excitement. To capture this unique adventure, an onboard video option is also available.

The Aircraft

The TB-30 Epsilon is a French-designed military training aircraft, developed for the French Air Force. Known for its maneuverability and robustness, it’s powered by a 300 horsepower Lycoming O-540 engine. The aircraft features a tandem seating arrangement, allowing both pilot and co-pilot to experience the flight from a first-person perspective. Its design emphasizes precise handling, making it ideal for formation flying and aerobatic maneuvers.

Conditions and Restrictions

Weather Dependent: Flights are subject to suitable weather conditions; if necessary, sessions may be rescheduled.
Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 15 years old.
Height and Weight Limits: Height between 1.20 m and 1.97 m (approximately 3 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 5 inches); weight between 50 kg and 115 kg (approximately 110 lbs to 254 lbs).
Health Considerations: Not suitable for pregnant individuals. A medical certificate is not mandatory unless there are known health issues, particularly cardiac conditions.
Companions: Guests are welcome to accompany participants to the aerodrome.
