What to expect

Your day starts at 9:00 am in central Bordeaux. After meeting your guide, you travel by minibus to the Médoc wine region, known for its left-bank vineyards and Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blends. Along the route, your guide shares practical information about Bordeaux vineyards and their classifications.

The first stop is at a Grand Cru Classé estate dating from the 1855 classification. You’ll visit the vineyard and cellars, and learn about local wine production. A wine tasting follows, allowing you to experience the structure and aromas of wines from this part of Bordeaux.

Around midday, another Grand Cru estate in the Médoc hosts your picnic lunch. Local products are served, along with wine from the estate. The setting offers time to relax and appreciate the surrounding vines.

In the afternoon, the group heads to Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Dordogne River. A visit to a family-owned vineyard introduces you to Merlot-based wines and the steps of wine tasting. The workshop helps you identify aromas and understand balance in red wines.

Before returning to Bordeaux, enjoy a guided walk in the village of Saint-Émilion. The narrow streets, historic buildings and underground monuments reflect the long history of this area. The village has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Return to Bordeaux is scheduled around 5:30 pm.

This day offers a structured and informative way to taste wines in Bordeaux while learning about the key regions of Médoc and Saint-Émilion. It is suited for visitors looking to understand French wine styles and estate production through guided visits.
