Morning session – Understanding scents

• Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• The session starts with a guided introduction to the world of fragrances.
• Learn how professional perfumers classify scents into families such as floral, woody, spicy, and citrus.
• Explore a collection of natural and synthetic raw materials used in perfume making.
• Understand the olfactory pyramid, which explains how perfumes evolve over time with top, heart, and base notes.

Afternoon session – Create your fragrance

• Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Work with a professional perfumer to blend different notes and construct your personalized perfume.
• Write your fragrance formula, measure the ingredients, and balance the intensity of each note.
• Learn the techniques behind fixatives and stabilizers to enhance the longevity of your fragrance.
• Finalize your creation, test your scent, and adjust the composition under the expert’s guidance.
• Take home a 50 ml (1.7 fl oz) bottle of your personally crafted perfume.

What to expect

This perfume workshop in Paris offers a full day of hands-on training in fragrance design. Located close to the Eiffel Tower, the session is divided into two parts: morning olfactory exploration and afternoon composition.

From 9:30 to 12:30, participants are introduced to the basics of scent structure and how a perfumer builds a fragrance. Through guided sensory exercises, you’ll smell and classify natural and synthetic raw materials, understand olfactory memory, and learn about the composition of top, heart, and base notes.

You will explore various scent families including floral, spicy, woody and fruity tones. This segment focuses on developing your ability to identify and describe scents, and introduces the pyramid structure of a perfume.

After a break, the afternoon session (14:00–17:00) is dedicated to creating your own perfume. With professional guidance, you will select your ingredients, write your fragrance formula, measure your materials, and build your blend. You will then evaluate your composition and adjust it if necessary.

The session ends with each participant receiving a 50 ml bottle of their fragrance to take home. This perfume creation workshop is technical, interactive, and educational. It gives you a clearer understanding of the perfumer’s method, and helps you assess your own olfactory sensitivity.
